Chat and relax games: what to expect from a cozy lofi world
Chat and relax games are small online worlds where nothing is urgent. There is no score and no timer. You wander, sit, talk and listen. They are popular for studying and working alongside others because the room feels alive without asking anything of you.
Lofi City follows that idea in a single side-scrolling map. You see inside the buildings as cutaways, so a cafe or library always looks occupied. Residents walk around and chat back, and the music changes place by place.
In this first version you play alone with the residents. The chat box, speech bubbles and emotes are built the same way a shared room would need them, so friends can be added later without changing how the game looks or plays.
Good habits for a calm session
Keep the music low, turn on calm mode if you want less motion, and pin one playlist if you do not want the music to change. Put the tab in the background: the music keeps playing.
